Mental Ideas launched as a weekly strand of the 123 Show on RTHK Radio 3 in 2020! I take a humorous look at innovative approaches to improving mental health with a diverse spectrum of guests from the worlds of entertainment, film, the arts and charity.
Guests include award-winning cartoonist and bestselling author Larry Feign, BIFA-nominated filmmaker Raffaello DeGruttola, virtual reality dance-maker Eugenia Kim, Jackie Chan (no, not that one, but I’d still bet on her in a street fight), villainous psychopathic actor Philippe Joly, depressed banker Christina Yung, anxious showman Mat Ricardo (a recurring guest) and Nollywood superstar Dan Davies (also recurring). British composer Nick Samuel provides the mental music!
The Mental Ideas Podcast was nominated by the Association for International Broadcasting in the Factual Podcast category for their 2020 AIB Awards! The winners were announced in a 2-part awards show shown on Al Jazeera in Nov that year. I was previously Highly Commended by the AIBs for Bipolar Express. The series was also officially selected by the 2021 Cinemonic Podcast Festival in LA.
