My latest column for Cha: An Asian Literary Journal dives into the life and story of Indian-American artist Sai Pradhan and the inspirations for her exhibition, With Regard to Myths. It’s got geckos and dogs in it. What more could you want from art? I had the pleasure of attending Sai’s mythical preview tonight and you definitely don’t want to miss it!!!

Thanks so much Tammy Ho Lai-ming for the care and attention you put into making every piece pop! You can read my first conversation for Cha with fine artist George Tang Kwok-wing here.

Thanks to Mind HK and Mindset for creating an opportunity for Mind HK ambassadors to share our stories and photography at the ‘Here and Now’ exhibition at the 3812 Gallery in August! The exhibition connected our mental health recovery stories to our photographs of places in Hong Kong that inspired a turning point.

The event was a collaboration with lovely local artist Erin Hung (pictured below) whose collection of bold posters were inspired by our stories and highlight of the event! Look out for Erin’s posters on the MTR! Better still, take a snap and tag #MindHongKong and #MTAL (More Than A Label) on Insta to spread positive messages about mental health in Hong Kong! 🙏🏼

Thanks soooooo much to Mind HK’s Vicki T’Sang for making and sending me this reel of exhibition goers viewing my contribution to the exhibition! 🫶🏼 To read what they’re reading, click here!

Congratulations to my friend Charles Tang on his Hong Kong Art School graduation art exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre in Wan Chai! Me and some middle-aged pals went along to support him and to remember how it feels to be young, an artist, and Chinese. We were blown away by ALL the incredible artwork on display by the talented graduates of Hong Kong Art School! Add oil – and whatever else you use to mix paint.

The exhibition, umarell., is open until 24 July. Go see it and support the next generation of emerging artists in Hong Kong while you can still afford to! It’s FREE! (But sadly this lot are way too talented for it to remain that way for long.)

When he’s not taking the art world by Typhoon Talim, Charles is an ambassador for Mental Ideas and one of the artists featured in the inaugural issue of The Apostrophe. He sometimes refers to me as his mentor. But only when he’s taking the piss.

Excited to be taking part in mental health charity Mind HK‘s exhibition of art, poetry and letters de-stigmatising mental health. The exhibition is a celebration of the first anniversary of the charity’s More Than A Label campaign and the theme is ‘I Was. I Am. I Will Be‘. I was, I am and I will be contributing a letter to my younger self, which will be among the many letters and artwork by Mind HK ambassadors on display. Please support! The exhibition is free to attend!

The exhibition will be held at 5, Sun Fung Mansion, 52-60 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, Hong Kong Nov 21-28.
