Join me and the women with WiPS for another fizz-fuelled fiesta celebrating women’s voices! The Women in Publishing Society‘s Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2026 launch of Imprint 24 takes place at the FCC 4 March from 7-10pm! Tickets include two drinks, a delicious spread of complimentary canapés, free copies of the anthology, readings, speeches and performances, amid the legendary hospitality of the FCC!

My contributions to this year’s anthology are a couple of musings and a delulu doodle. While my pieces strike a slightly more reflective note than usual, I’ll be performing a humorous piece from an upcoming episode of Sharp Pains at the event by kind invitation of editor Carol Dyer, In Bed with Sadie. Don’t miss it!!!

I am flushed to share that my humour column Flush Fiction will be published by The Hooghly Review as a weekly feature Feb 2026! Based in India, but attracting artists and writers from all over the world, The Hooghly Review is a digital free-access magazine of literature, culture, and arts. It’s the bold creation of its founding editors Ankit Raj Ojh and Tejaswinee Roychowdhury and listed on Chill Subs’ Best Lit Mags! I can’t wait to pull down my pants and lower the tone!

Feeling flushed at the HK Lit Fest! (2024)

Tickets are now on sale for the Women in Publishing Society‘s launch of their annual anthology, Imprint 23, at the Hong Kong Literary Festival 2025! Two of my short stories (a humorous piece and an essay on mental health) have slithered their way into this year’s anthology and I’m delighted to be invited to read (the humorous piece) at the event. Last year I read The Snide Sniper and the year before that it was Bake Fail. Fingers crossed this year’s attendees are just as appreciative. And by appreciative I mean inebriated.

Join me and the women with WiPS for a literary hotpot celebrating women’s diverse voices at the FCC 5 March from 7pm!

HKILF 2024 Program

The Hong Kong Writers Circle‘s 19th anthology, Lost in Transition, will launch at the 2024 Hong Kong International Literary Festival March 6! The event will be held 7.30pm – 8.45pm in the Jockey Club Studio at the Hong Kong Fringe Club. This year’s anthology contains 30 short stories and poems inspired by Hong Kong’s underground life-support system – the MTR! (I also set my own theme of ‘Yakult’.) Tickets are FREE but you must book now as there are very few left!

As well as contributing, I assisted Stewart McKay to edit this anthology, which is the thickest yet! (That’s thick in terms of width, not talent.) It contains many weird and wonderful poems and stories by local writers so please support and if you write, join us! HUGE thanks to my good pal Philippe Joly for helping design the cover and my nephew Kaz for taking the cover shot!

So stand back from the platform door and please don’t find yourself lost in transition…

Sharp Pains has been growing a new audience of poetry fans on the Voice Your Passion channel on YouTube! (Poetic injustice?) The Bake Fail episode has just gone live! My cheeky recipe for disaster was published in the SCMP’s Post Magazine as A Piece of Cake earlier this month. Catch up with missed episodes on RTHK Radio 3 here and look out for more humour columns (and the occasional Rant) in Post Mag!
