As Hong Kong dithers on whether to embrace the ‘pet economy’, my foodie poo Mojo is in Cha: An Asian Literary Journal with his review of a Hong Kong restaurant! I helpfully provided the English translation, being fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and, err, Woof. Thanks to editor Tammy Ho Lai-Ming for the editorial feedback, which Mojo really appreciated, and for publishing what is undoubtedly the silliest piece ever to appear in Cha in its 20 year history!

I dropped by RTHK Radio 3 for a bipolar expresso (not to be confused with an espresso martini, which I also asked for) with rockstar producer Rachel Liu this World Bipolar Day! Thanks RTHK for making this happen at short notice and making me feel so welcome!

If any of this resonates with you, please join Bipolar Hong Kong, the SAR’s bipolar support group. Wishing all bipolar bears a World Bipolar Day that is juuuuuuuust right!

Join me and the women with WiPS for another fizz-fuelled fiesta celebrating women’s voices! The Women in Publishing Society‘s Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2026 launch of Imprint 24 takes place at the FCC 4 March from 7-10pm! Tickets include two drinks, a delicious spread of complimentary canapés, free copies of the anthology, readings, speeches and performances, amid the legendary hospitality of the FCC!

My contributions to this year’s anthology are a couple of musings and a delulu doodle. While my pieces strike a slightly more reflective note than usual, I’ll be performing a humorous piece from an upcoming episode of Sharp Pains at the event by kind invitation of editor Carol Dyer, In Bed with Sadie. Don’t miss it!!!

Aiya! My return to RTHK Radio 3 did not go as planned. I arrived at the studio early and zoned out when I realised hang on, aren’t I supposed to be on the air by now? It turned out Noz was in the studio, too. Just not the one I was in. She was in the one on the other side of town. So we did the interview on the phone but I couldn’t upload my poem without cutting her off (so RTHK listeners were spared that annual ‘treat’. At least until World Bipolar Day.😆)

Always a slice of sunshine chatting to Noz in any sticky situation – on the air or off it! Hope your World Mental Health Day was as full of memorable mishaps and mayhem as mine! And it was nice being back in the studio, even if it was the wrong studio!

What a blast and a huge honour to have been invited to speak to students at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts as an ambassador for Mind HK about mental health, film and the arts alongside the amazing Kate Sullivan! Kate’s short film about mental health was screened at the event – check it out here! The event was moderated by the lovely Tiff! Thanks to everyone who made it happen!

Mind HK Ambassador

This was my second event for Mind HK in the past month. I also had the joy of contributing as a panelist and an ambassador to Mind HK’s summer exhibition Listen to the Beat along with all these lovely people! 🥰

Find me in the Reflection Room in this World Mental Health Day episode of Brunch with Noreen on RTHK Radio 3 where Noz and I are chatting Bipolar Hong Kong and I share a poem dedicated to all the companies all over the world that care about mental health on World Mental Health Day and not quite so much the other 364 days of the year…

The poem was one of a bunch I read at Mind HK‘s Poetry, Stories and Mental Health event at the 2024 Hong Kong Lit Fest in March. Please support mental health in the workplace every day! 💜

My third and final event of the Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2024 was the Women in Publishing Society‘s launch of anthology Imprint 22. I had an absolute blast reading my humorous short story The Snide Sniper to a rather well lubricated and very appreciative crowd at the Foreign Correspondents Club!

I am honoured to have had three very different pieces published in this year’s beautifully illustrated and meticulously edited anthology – The Snide Sniper, poem Barking Mad (along with a sketch of my beloved pooch Hobo) and a personal essay on how my neurodiversity (ADHD) can turbocharge my creativity but make me feel like a typo. You can purchase the book from the Lion Rock Press, Bookazine, Vibe and the FCC!

Congratulations to editor Carol Dyer, Polly, Gillian, Leslie, Rinkoo and all the WiPS team. Also to Joanna and Ursula for coming out to support what was an epic prelude to International Women’s Day!
